Quinte Ballroom Dance Club

The QBDC holds periodic social events centered around modern sequence and ballroom dancing. A typical evening program will include a mixture of international ballroom dances, sequence ballroom dances, party dances and some line dancing. This year we plan to arrange workshops for some common sequence dances for the benefit of dancers who are new to this English tradition. More details will be forthcoming in October.

Schedule of Events and Themes

Most CLUB events are scheduled on the third Friday of each month, beginning at 8:00 pm and ending at Midnight. Themes for the 2011 Fall dances will be added after the new club executive meets. Club elections are at the April meeting.

Fall 2011:

September 16 Back to School
October 21 Woodstock 2011. Come dressed to Party - Hippie, Geek or whatever suits the theme
November 18 Christmas Toy Box. Bring a discarded child's toy that can be donated to charity.
December 16 Christmas theme. Semi-formal, wear your favorite Christmas outfit.

Winter/Spring 2012:

January 20 Italian night. We plan on Pizza being served.
February 17 Shipwreck party. Come dressed based on what you were doing before hitting the life boats?
March 16 Jungle Drums. Come prepared for a safari.
April 15 Joint Dance with CANUK Club. Theme: Casino night!
April 20 Pot luck dinner, annual meeting and dance.
May 11 ** 200th Anniversary of the Waltz. Formal dress, details to follow.

Another joint dance coordinated with the CANUK Club in Kingston is scheduled for one Sunday afternoon in April 2011. This dance will take place at the Napanee Lion's Hall on on Highway 41 South. We expect to have dancing from 2:30 to 5:00 followed by a supper. Check back for more information.
